Animalert is the citizen-built, free app to report and find lost, found, injured or deceased animals. It is run by a non-profit (French loi 1901 association) registered in February 2024, powered by 45 active volunteers and used by several thousand people across every French department.
Local authorities subscribe to a suite of tools to better protect animals and support residents and municipal teams. For residents, shelters and animal welfare associations, the service is free, entirely and permanently. The association grows town by town. Animalert also publishes WikiPaw, a non-profit media outlet on the animal cause, and releases open data on wildlife, including Eaux & Faune, labelled by the French State in 2026.
