FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Is the app really 100% free?

Yes. Unlike other platforms that charge for visibility options, Animalert is completely free. There is no paid "boost": every reported pet gets the same maximum, instant alert to the local community.

How does the geolocated alert work?

When you report your dog or cat as lost, the app sends an instant push notification only to citizens with the app who are within a close radius. This immediately mobilises the people able to act on the ground.

Do I need to be at the exact place of disappearance to launch the alert?

No. You can place a precise marker on the app's map at the spot where your pet was last seen, even if you have gone back home or are somewhere else.

Is my phone number public?

Protecting your privacy comes first (GDPR). The choice is entirely yours: you can hide your phone number and favour contact through your social media (Instagram) or by email. You can also see who has accessed your information.

Can Animalert be used for a found or injured animal?

Absolutely. Animalert is a complete mutual-aid network. If you come across a stray, injured or endangered animal, you can create a report in 2 minutes to alert its family or the competent local authorities.

What happens if I have no signal during my search?

The app was designed for the field. It caches data (Offline Mode), so you can browse saved reports and the pet's details even in an area with poor mobile coverage.
