France's public volunteering portal has become our main volunteer recruitment channel, by a margin that no other effort comes close to matching.
Our collaboration
JeVeuxAider.gouv.fr is France's national volunteering platform, part of the Réserve civique and run by the State. For Animalert it is by far the channel that brings in the most volunteers: more than 100 candidacies received to date, of which 40+ have turned into active engagement. Missions are relayed across the wider non-profit and digital ecosystem, all the way to LinkedIn, which accounts for a large share of the dynamic.
On the tooling side, the platform ships with message templates that make application processing actually sustainable, even when candidacies arrive in batches. The mission granularity also works for both a one-off engagement (a few hours of proof-reading, say) and a more structural long-term commitment. That makes it as fitting for a young non-profit project as for an already-established organisation.
In practice, two full Animalert teams have been built through JeVeuxAider: the accessibility pôle (multilingual translation and review of our content) and the legal team. Further teams are being recruited through the same channel, notably on the design and communications side. And when someone who reaches out to us directly doesn't match our current needs, we route them back to the platform to find a better-fitting organisation: we don't hoard goodwill, we send it where it is most useful.
